What a busy week we’ve had in Year 4! We’ve been learning lots of new things, getting stuck into our lessons and having plenty of fun along the way. We also shared in our first class Mass this week. Well done to our readers, who read with reverence and respect.
In Maths, we’ve been getting to grips with multiples of 3 and 6. We’ve also been learning about place value beyond 1,000, making sure we know the value of each digit in a number. There have been lots of tricky numbers to think about! In English, we’ve been busy drafting our letters and getting them ready to send to Councillor Tucker. We’ve been thinking carefully about how to get our ideas across and make our writing as convincing as possible. We’ve also been practising our very best “posh voices” ready to publish and deliver our letters!
In RE, we learnt about Abraham and some of the worries he might have had when he had to move to an unknown land. We took part in an “Abraham’s Conscience Corridor”, with one side sharing his worries and the other side reminding him to trust and pray. It was a great way to think about how Abraham might have felt.
We headed outside for an invertebrate hunt in Forest School in Science this week. We searched for as many different little creatures as we could find and then thought about how we could sort them into different groups. We had some great discussions about what makes each creature similar or different.
In Geography, we’ve started learning more about South America. We’ve been finding different countries and cities using atlases and Google Earth. It’s been great exploring the continent and seeing just how big and varied it is!
