What another fantastic week we have had in Year 4! 🌟

This week began with our Year 2 and Year 4 Class Mass. A huge thank you to our wonderful readers, who read with such reverence, respect and confidence. We were incredibly proud of you!

In Maths, we have been getting to grips with Roman numerals and rounding to the nearest 10. There has been plenty of practice through games of bingo – congratulations to Joseph E and Erin, our very worthy winners! Mr Williams may also have become slightly too competitive…! We also ventured into the hall for some active rounding, learnt a rounding song and were absolutely on fire with our new-found skills!

Our English lessons have been filled with creativity as we have been drafting our classic fiction adventure stories, using The Borrowers as our stimulus. The children’s imaginations have certainly been running wild and we are very excited to edit and publish our finished stories next week, ready to share them with Year 2!

In Science, we have been exploring rural and urban habitats before heading outside to investigate just how biodiverse our local habitats are. We took our time observing carefully and completed our very own wildlife survey – it was amazing to see how much life can be found when we simply stop and look!

In Geography, we have continued our research into different sections of Route 66, preparing to become expert tour guides. Next week, we’ll be putting our research and persuasive speaking skills to the test as we present our tour guide speeches in groups. We can’t wait! We are also upping our game in handwriting, with lots of children working incredibly hard towards earning their pen licences. There are certainly some very eager candidates in Year 4… Watch this space!

A very happy birthday to Thomas and a huge well done to Layla-Lee and Flynn, this week’s Class Superstars! We can hardly believe that we have just one more week until our first official half term in Year 4 is complete. What a jam-packed first half term it has been so far!
