Swimming Gala

On Wednesday, 18 of our pupils from Years 4, 5 and 6, competed against 6 Coventry West schools in the annual Swimming Gala. We finished in 4th place, putting us into the final.
In the finals, we finished joint third with two other schools so had a race off. We lost the race off meaning we slipped back to fifth, but considering this was out of 17 schools, it was an amazing result! We are so proud!
Highlights
– Ethan won his front crawl race in the Coventry West heats (against 6 other schools) and had the overall quickest time out of all 17 schools. He also came overall 2nd in the Y6 boys 50m distance race.
– The Y6 girls relay was amazing; they came second!
– Alannah came fifth in her 25m race and then blew Mrs Rae away and came second in her 50m distance race! She was also responsible for making our time quicker in the finals relay races. She tried so hard to close the gap but was just a few seconds short!

-The Y4 girls came third in their relay!

There were lots of county swimmers there – and some really strong swimmers who went off like rockets. Our children did so well and were so well behaved despite the long waits and delayed lunchtime!

We got so many second and third places and couldn’t be any prouder of the sheer enthusiasm, determination and resilience that each of the children demonstrated. Well done!
