If your child is a narrator in the KS1 nativity, please could you provide something for them to wear underneath their tabard. This could be a pair of black leggings, black skins or black tights for the bottom and a black t-shirt or strappy top for the top. If you don’t have these exact specifics, please do not feel obliged to buy anything – just send the closest thing you have (any dark colours will be fine)! They are needed to keep your child covered-up and warm. Please bring it in at the earliest opportunity (and by Monday at the latest) in a labelled carrier bag.
Year 2’s Advent preparations are in full swing! We collected Holly and evergreen to make our wreath and created art work based on the Advent wreath, using chalk.
We then made a HUGE Advent calendar of our own! Behind each window is an act of kindness that we will aim to carry out each day in the lead up to Christmas.
This Saturday is our annual Christmas Bazaar and we can’t wait to see you all there!
There will be lots of different stalls, cake and tea, a performance from our wonderful choir, a secret room for present purchasing, a very special visit from a very special man and lots more for you to enjoy!
As always, we thank you for your kind donations and encourage them to keep on coming. We are in particular need of chocolate (bars/tubs/etc) and any other little bits and bobs for the tombola or raffle prizes.
We would also like to remind you that this Friday is ‘Bring a bottle’ into school day where we ask the children to bring in a bottle in exhange for wearing non-uniform for the day! These donations do really make a difference and make our bazaar the success it usually is.
Many thanks 🙂
We had a great time in our drama workshop! We learnt more facts about The Great Fire of London through acting and role play and the day culminated in a performance to the whole school!
If you haven’t already, please ensure you have paid for the Great Fire of London workshop that is taking place on Monday (26/11/18). Please pay via SIMS Agora over the weekend and should you experience any problems with this, please see the office on Monday morning.
Thank you to the School Council for their informative assembly about anti-bullying today. They showed us that by ‘choosing respect’, we can stamp out bullying for good!
On Monday 12th, Year 1 and Year 2 are walking to the Odeon Cinema.
The children should come to school in their school uniform as normal. We ask that all children arrive at school at 8:30am as we will need to leave at 8:45am prompt. We will be back in time for lunchtime. We will provide the children with a small bag of sweets to enjoy at the cinema.
Remember that this Monday (12th) is ‘Odd Socks Day’ to mark the start of Anti-Bullying Week.
Children are invited to come into school wearing odd socks (the weirder and wackier the better) to show that although we are all different, we are all worth the same and should be treated equally.
I know it seems early but…
The dates for this year’s nativity are as follows:
Tuesday 11th December at 1:15 pm
Wednesday 12th December at 9:15 am
We look forward to seeing you there!
On Monday 26th November, Year 2 will be taking part in an all-day drama workshop at school. The workshop aims to draw together all that we have learnt about the Great Fire of London and bring the topic to life through drama. This will be a fantastic and fun opportunity!
We are asking for a contribution from yourselves of £8 per child. Please make all payments through Sims Agora. Should you have any issues with using this system, please see the office for assistance. Please ensure that all payments are made by Monday 19th November.
