Busy bees in Year 4!

This week has been packed with lots of exciting lessons, hard work, interesting questions and a lot of giggles!

It began with our first ukulele lesson, in which Mr Evans introduced us to this interesting little instrument. Some of us already knew what they were as we’d heard our brothers and sisters practising. Once we’d learnt the different parts of the ukulele, we finally got to hold one and strum it. We !earnt a couple of silly sings and soon got the hang of the beat. We can’t wait for next Monday!

Please note children are more than welcome to bring their own ukulele into school with them but there is no obligation to buy one as we are currently supplying them.

In English, we continued our journey through Flotsam as we uncovered the wordless story for ourselves and really brought the pictures to life.

We then orally retold the sorry in groups.

In Maths, we have been comparing and ordering pretty big numbers and counting forwards and backwards in multiples of 6s, 7s, 8s and 9s – it’s been quite challenging but we’ve loved some of the competitive games!

In Science, we began our topic in the human body by exploring the different parts of the digestive system. We all had great fun shouting some of the body parts out and tried out very best to create out very own labelled image in groups outside in the playground.

We have also been learning about the Vikings in history such as who they were, where they came from and what they did. We had so many questions and loved creating our posters!

In RE, we have been learning about Creation and how God created us in the image of Him. We were so eloquent in our discussions which led to some leaves being added to our tree. This also become the focus of our prayer as we thought more deeply about how we individually were similar to God.

Please note it is our first family mass thus Sunday. It would be great to see as many of you there as possible!

Well done to Gosia and Harry who were this week’s Superstars – it was a toughy!

Have a lovely weekend! 🙂
