Winter has well and truly arrived this week so we have been making snowflakes for our tree (see photo), doing small world play with arctic animals and counting how many ‘snow balls’ we could pick up with the large tweezers in one minute. A big hit this week has also been trying to transfer spaghetti from one bowl to another using kitchen tongues, tweezers, scoops etc to develop fine motor skills and muscle strength in hands for writing.
Next week we will be doing some ice experiments, making bird feeders and focussing on 2D shapes. We will also be starting the theme of Baptism in R.E so it would be great if the children could bring in any Baptism photos or related items. Have a good weekend and keep warm!
